What's the Weather Like At Thanksgiving?
Most people know the Grand Strand for its sunny summers and great beach weather, but the "off-season" is an absolutely wonderful time to visit the area, too! The weather is mild, there are fewer crowds, and still a ton to do! You can expect highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. There are usually about 5 days of rain each November, so if you're coming for a week, you'll get your fair share of sunshine and blue skies.

Things to do in Myrtle Beach for Thanksgiving

For a rainy day or a fun, family-friendly activity, head to the Hollywood Wax Museum or Ripley's Aquarium, where you can spot your favorite celebrities in wax form or learn about life under the sea. For even more indoor family fun, head to the Fun Warehouse! Inside, you'll find rollerblading, laser tag, go-karts, and arcade games.
For shopping and dining, we suggest a trip to Barefoot Landing. The waterfront entertainment district features unique shops and eateries and is home to the Alabama Theatre (where you can see the South’s Grandest Christmas Show).
When the weather cooperates, head to Brookgreen Gardens to admire the majestic oak trees covered in Spanish moss. The gardens are also home to an array of beautiful sculptures and host events year-round! As mentioned above, the Night of 1000 Candles is an incredible holiday event you can enjoy at Brookgreen once the sun sets. Other great ideas for a nice day include spending the day at a state park, such as Huntington Beach State Park or Myrtle Beach State Park. Spend some time with family in the great outdoors (and stretch your legs and get some exercise in after your meal while you’re at it!)
If you want to venture out for a historical day trip, check out Historic Georgetown! As the third-oldest city in South Carolina, Georgetown is filled with interesting historic sites and plenty of charm.
