9100 Acres of Beauty in Lowcountry

Welcome to Brookgreen Gardens, a 9100 acre History and Wildlife Preserve on the Register of National Historic Places. Built on 4 former rice plantations and steeped with majestic live oak trees that are draped in Spanish moss. Founded in 1932 by Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington to feature sculptures by Anna as well as other American artists.

The gardens are filled with magnificent original works of art that are exquisitely complimented by native trees and seasonal blooms. With every season brings a masterpiece of nature at its finest. The gardens have very deservingly earned countless awards and honors.

Events Year Round

There is plenty to do and see all year long, including gardens, sculptures, zoo, tours, boat rides, exhibits, shopping and dining. During the holidays, Brookgreen comes alive with a spectacular display of dazzling lights, and holidays like Easter offer special events for kids and families.
